We will hold a special screening of "Kikanki-ki 2023," an ongoing video work by Hiroyuki Oki, an artist participating in the Linkage "Kikanki-ki 2023" in Tokyo Biennale 2023. This work-in-progress video work will be screened and Oki himself will talk about episodes related to its production.
*Public talk will be held in Japanese.
Comment on "Kikanki-ki 2023" by Hiroyuki Oki
The video images shot at TRANS ARTS TOKYO in 2012 and 2013, and at the previous Tokyo Biennale 2020/2021 will be combined with the video images to be shot during this year's Tokyo Biennale 2023, resulting in a single-channel work that changes as it is projected on the elevator monitor in the exhibition hall. The changing single-channel work will be projected on the monitors in front of the elevators in the exhibition hall. The actions of various people, places, and times during the Triennial will be further linked through images to create actions for tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.
