11.4 (Sat) Call for Participants in Look-alike Contest: We Are "Kao no Waishatsu" (Face-Brand Shirts)

“Kao no Waishatsu” (Face-Brand Shirts) was founded in 1920 as a made-to-order shirt business shop. The shop's trademark is a large sign with a big face that suddenly appears in Kanda Ogawa-cho, in the middle of modern buildings. After the Great Kanto Earthquake, the shop was rebuilt and operated in the same location ever since, undeterred by the war damage. The distinctive signboard is based on a portrait of the first owner, Matsu Kajinaga, as a young man. The shop was however regrettably closed in early 2020. The project reopens the shop as a limited-time shop and develop a range of activities to preserve its social value.
As part of this activity, a "Kao no Y-Shirt" look-alike contest will be held. In this contest, we are looking for a suitable person to become the second face of the "Kao no Y-Shirt," who will carry on the wishes of the first shop owner. Self-recommendations and recommendations, regardless of age or nationality, are welcome. The person selected as the new 'Face' will be appointed as the official successor of the "Kao no Y-Shirt" (certificate and extra prize). We encourage you to apply. An open contest session will also be held on Saturday 4 November. Non-applicants are also welcome to attend.
