Born in Rio de Janeiro, living in Berlin. Garrido received her education as a circus artist at the National Circus School in Rio de Janeiro, specializing in aerial acrobatics. As a performer, she holds experiences working with groups such as Cirque du Soleil (1997-2001), Compagnie Philippe Decouflé (2003) and Öff Öff Aerial Dance Company (2008-2009). Her first solo piece, “Time and (in) Movement,” which approaches the process of aging, has debuted at Sesc International Circus Festival (2017), in São Paulo and was presented at the “Pfefferberg Theater” in Berlin (2018). She has recently conceived the photographic project “Inciting public disturbance” (2018), in partnership with the photographer Paula Faraco, and participated in the “Flausen – young artists in residence” (2019) in Marburg. In 2021 and 2022 she developed and performed two seasons of her interdisciplinary performance “What Can I Offer You Today?” in Berlin. Her creations explore the interaction between circus, dance and theater, including references of contemporary art and experiments with audiovisuals.
Born in Malta, Clare Ghigo is an accomplished mezzo-soprano and opera director, known for her exceptional talent and versatility in both classical and contemporary works. Beyond her operatic performances, Her artistry extends to directing projects, including notable works such as Ullmann's "Der Kaiser von Atlantis," "Gawhar Misjub," a collection of forgotten Maltese works, and her recent assistance to Caroline Staunton on Wagner's "Walküre."
Odekrom stems out of curious chat and a fascination to work with another. Clare and Joseph Calleja (visual artist) started this chat informally in the early months of 2019, when Clare approached Joseph with an interesting proposal to start a collaboration towards the anniversary of the Theresienstadt Ghetto. In return Joseph suggested to Clare to start exploring each other's vocabulary by making a work for a project initiated by Lateral Lab called Ways of Thinking for the Tokyo Olympiad 2020. During this initial phase they developed an audio visual approach to their collaborations. Their first two collaborative pieces have attracted support from Lateral Lab, Creative Scotland, British Council, and Arts Council Malta.
A design unit by Toshikazu Goto and Fumiko Ikeda. Started their activities as "gift_" in Ebisu, Tokyo in 2005. They opened gift_lab, a gallery store that serves as a laboratory and a small cultural exchange space. Goto designs spaces and furniture, and Ikeda curates projects and does styling, etc. They work together to plan and practice the creation of "places" and "situations" in a broad sense. Since the early 2000s, they have actively participated in projects such as Tokyo Designers Block, Central East Tokyo, DesignTide Tokyo, and others that simultaneously and diversely transform urban gaps into galleries. After the Great East Japan Earthquake, They started "Yamanoie" in the Echigo-Tsumari area (Tokamachi, Niigata). Three years later, They moved their Tokyo base to Kiyosumi-Shirakawa and is now practicing a double local life in these two locations.
Artist. Born 1984 in Kwa Mashu Township, South Africa. Based in Durban. Graduated his Fine Art Master’s studies at the University of Kwa Zulu-Natal (PMB) Campus. He is the 2012 Emma Smith Award recipient, due to this he has worked and displayed works at some galleries in the USA. He works with multimedia, for the cross-pollination of the use of media, material, and processes of art-making are his main inspiration and these serve as a metaphor of global culture and its effects on us.
James’ work often fuses field recordings with music, and has been presented in situations as diverse as BBC Radio 3, Tokyo’s SuperDeluxe, and British Airways’ in-flight entertainment. An ongoing project explores nature sounds in eastern Hokkaido with Memu Earth Lab, while his partnership with the composer Neil Luck focuses on experimental and playful approaches to radio. With MSCTY_Studio, highlights include large scale sound installations in Thailand, site-specific work for the City of London, and partnering with the telecommunications brand OPPO on sound for their OS’ relaxation app.

With the motto, “towns are built from the ground level”, the company aims at building spaces for local people to play small roles in their neighborhoods. With a comprehensive design comprised of “hard” (architecture, interior, exterior), “soft” (what is offered, what is allowed), and “communitcation” (what moves people and pushes them into action), the resulting architecture and facilities along with the people who live there and the entire community grow more active through “ground level building."
