OSHIBORI Linkage is an experimental project to encounter art from around the world at restaurants by using the Japanese oshibori (moistened hand towel) as a white canvas.
A total of 25 artists, including those recommended by the Tokyo Biennale and artists selected from abroad through an open call, will participate in the project. Their original drawings are embroidered on oshibori. These embroidered works will be offered mixed with regular oshibori at about 20 restaurants in Tokyo that are partners in this project, where visitors can enjoy a chance encounter with the artworks (hand towels).
In this exhibition, visitors can see both the oshibori works used to entertain guests during the Biennale's Summer period and unused one made from the same original artwork.
