His work includes architectural design, urban planning, and writing. Around the same time, he started the Real Tokyo Estate, a website that discovers and introduces real estate in Tokyo from a unique perspective and sense of value. He has been an associate professor at Tohoku University of Art and Design since 2008 and a professor there since 2016. 2015, he launched Real Public Estate, a matching project for public spaces.
Embroiderer. BAKENEKO KLUB creates hand-embroidered works on the themes of plants, wildlife, myths and indigenous cultures. BAKENEKO KLUB has participated in group exhibitions and artist in residence in Nagano, Berlin and Athens. Hand embroidery is a time-consuming process, but embroidering wildlife and mythical creatures is like psychotherapy for the artist, as it is a feeling of perceiving natural objects in greater detail and plunging the whole body into the other world.
Marco Barotti is a media artist based in Berlin. After music studies at Siena Jazz Academy, he began merging sound with visual art. His work is driven by a desire to invent an artistic language in which a fictional post-futurist era is expressed through kinetic sound interventions in natural and urban environments. His installations merge audio technology, consumer objects and waste into moving sculptures triggered entirely by sound. The primary focus of his work is to create a “tech ecosystem” that plays with resemblances to animals. These artworks serve as a metaphor for the anthropogenic impact on the planet and aim to make people aware of environmental issues.
His work has been exhibited internationally in: Ars Electronica (Linz, Austria) Saatchi Gallery (London, UK), Futurium, NGBK Gallery (Berlin, Germany), Polytech Festival (Moscow, Russia), FACT (Liverpool, UK), Wro Art Center (Wroclaw, Poland) , Würth Museum (La Rioja, Spain) Emaf (Osnabrück, Germany), Lisboa Soa (Lisbon, Portugal), Nuit Blanche (Brussels, Belgium), Platoon (Mexico City, Mexico), Urban Lights Ruhr (Hamm, Germany), and List í Ljósi Light Festival (Iceland).
Artist, Academician. Kerem Ozan Bayraktar’s work centers around establishing physical and conceptual environments. Using digital visualizations, photographs, animations, models, everyday objects, texts and graphics, he focuses on the behavior of natural and artificial systems, their occlusion points, boundaries, collapses, mutations, and how we make sense of them. These systems consist of organizations ranging from spontaneous urban plants to exoplanets, which are quite different in terms of content but have similar systemic principles.
He recently participated in the “Berlin Senate Residency Program” and the “Istanbul Biennial Production and Research Programme“. Previous to his latest solo exhibition “Rocks and Winds, Germs and Words” (Sanatorium, 2019), he had opened six solo shows. Some of the group projects that the artist participated in 2019 include: “Ubiquitous Surfaces” (Seager Gallery, London), “The Sound of No-one Listening” (The Corridor Art Space, Amsterdam), “Openhaus” (ZK/U, Berlin), “Istanbul Biennial Digestion Program” (MSFAU, Istanbul), “flesh and bone” (Operation Room, Istanbul).
He lives in Istanbul, and continues to work at SAHA Studio. He is represented by Sanatorium.
