Photographer. Born 1981 in Yokosuka, Kanagawa. He is widely active in the commercial photography area, including books, advertisements, and the web, shooting portraits and still life, while continuing to create works on the theme of cities and digital photography. Sagittarius, blood type A.
Artist. Born 1991 in Tokyo. Completed the doctoral program of the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. He has been thinking about "changing consciousness" by adding energy to materials or bodies to the limit, through media such as performances, sculptures, videos, and installations in which he works on the environment with his own body. Major solo exhibitions include "Scale Here" (BLOCK HOUSE, Tokyo, 2019), and group exhibitions include "Grand Kyoto Art Festival in Kyotango 2020" (multiple venues in Kyotango City, Kyoto) and " Art Award IN THE CUBE 2020" (The Museum of Fine Arts, Gifu, Japan).
Architect. Born 1962 in Kanagawa. Co-head of MIKAN. Professor at Tohoku University of Art and Design, Representative Director of Energy Machizukuri-Sha Inc. and Eco-Town Specialization Course at the City Management Professional School. Writes mainly about energy and architecture.
Completed graduate studies in the laboratory of architect Shuhei Endo. Participates in a wide range of planning/design based on the architectural thinking he learned in graduate school. He is involved in branding, service design, UX/UI design, and XR/3DCG design under the theme of "experiences that fuse reality and technology."
A collaborative team consisting of the Iwasawa brothers, programmer/algomic designer; Junichiro Horikawa, graphic designer Yu Miyama; and communication planner Kazue Nakata. TMPR (pronounced "tempura") stands for Tokyo Moving Point Researchers.
An art unit consisting of Takakuni Kawahara, the sole inheritor of Birudan Washi paper, and Tomomi Shibakusa, Space Communication Director. With the concept of "creating the first phenomenon for the future," they work to create new values and richness in everyday life.
Artist. Learned architecture since childhood, including an apprenticeship under Shin Egashira. Since September 11th, 2001, he has been creating patterns with the concept “to connect”. Many of his patterns are based on simple geometry, which can be reproduced using a compass and a ruler. His work is both two-dimensional and three-dimensional, crossing disciplines such as fine arts, design and architecture. His major works include the lower facade glass pattern for Dai Nagoya Building, emblems for The Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the pattern for BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE bags and the Tower of Connect, which is a sculpture installed outside Otemachi Park Building. He is a lecturer at the University of Tokyo Faculty of Engineering and a part-time lecturer at the College of Arts and Sciences, the University of Tokyo. He also is a visiting professor at National
Taiwan Normal University (Taipei, Taiwan), Department of Design.
Born 1976 in Shinagawa, Tokyo, Japan. In 2001, completed the master's course at Musashi Institute of Technology (now Tokyo City University). 2001-2004, worked at Takaharu Tezuka + Yui Tezuka / TEZUKA ARCHITECTS . 2005, established Hiroshi Tomikawa Architects / SIESTA and moved to Higashi-Nihonbashi. 2007, co-founded sktk Architects & Associates. In 2009, he reorganized the firm into HIROSHI TOMIKAWA Architects & Associates. He has been a part-time lecturer at the Department of Architecture, Tokyo City University since 2013.
President of Moraltex Corporation, which explores new possibilities for towels, and President of Nitto Towel Corporation, a long-established towel wholesaler founded by his grandfather 74 years ago. After working for a trading company, then a management consultant, and as a high school teacher, he became Executive Managing Director of Nitto Towel in 2014. In 2017, he opened Moraltex Labo, a towel store with a cafe, in Higashi-Kanda, Chiyoda-ku. He is also actively involved in community activities in Nihonbashi.
Born in Tokyo in 1962. After graduating from Keio University, he joined Mitsubishi Corp. before becoming president of Smiles co. in 2000. He has since developed various businesses including Soup Stock Tokyo, The Chain Museum, and New Immigrations. He is Professor at Joshibi University of Art and Design. Since his first solo exhibition in 1996, he has had solo exhibitions in New York and other cities. His company Smiles Co. participated as an artist in the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale, and he exhibited and managed Lemon Hotel at the Setouchi Triennale. For his small creative YouTube project, A New Type of Old Man, he oversees the shooting, editing, and music.
Architect. Graduated from the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, The University of Tokyo. After working at Tadao Ando Architect & Associates and SHoP Architects (New York), he founded the architectural design firm NOIZ in 2007, and established the cross-disciplinary platform gluon in 2017. 2017, he served as a an advisor for the venue planning to attract the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. From 2020, he has served as Vice President of the Architectural Institute of Japan, and Evangelist of the Common Ground Living Lab in Osaka. From 2021, he is a Specially Appointed Professor at the Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo.
Sound artist. Born in 1971 on "Ear Day” (in Japan). Performing and writing activities under "Listening and Playing the Sea”. In addition to “hofli” (the name of solo activity), he has developed musical activities based on
field recording and improvisation with various units such as “stilllife" and "Hoshigata no Niwa". To producing sound installations and continuing the "Mimi wo Sumasu" workshop series, he serves as the navigator for the listening event "Shorai Yawa" with Keiichi Fukushima. His main CD works include Hygrometer' and News of Sunbeams'. Edited books Wind People, Grove People' and From Field Recording Sites' (both published by Companysha).
Art director, fashion designer, and organizer of the FINAL HOME project, he has been a member of the Miyake Design Office since 1983, working mainly with Issey Miyake on the Paris Collections. 1992, he invented FINAL HOME, a line of clothing that uses the entire jacket as a storage space. In 1994, he launched the fashion brands "KOSUKE TSUMURA" and "FINAL HOME" from A-net Inc. In 2015, he became independent and launched the FINAL HOME project. He is also a professor at Musashino Art University, a part-time lecturer at Tokyo University of the Arts, and a part-time lecturer at Kuwasawa Design School. He is a member of the Japan Culture Design Forum.
Buşra Tunç is an architect/artist whose work focuses on perception and experience in the fields of architecture, art and design. Having studied architecture, cinema and sound, she works with “Atmosphere” as the focal point of her work. Working with industrial and everyday materials, optical units and analog instruments, she often considers structures containing remnants and memories from industrial spaces and crowded cities.
To date, she has collaborated with Istanbul Modern Museum, Pera Museum, Massimiliano Fuksas and Salon of the Museum of Contemporary Art Belgrade. Her main site-specific projects are; “Ather” (Goethe-Institut, 2020), “Oculus” (MSGSÜ Tophane-i Amire, 2016), “Majaz” (Buyuk Valide Khan, 2017), “Suruhu” (Nakilbent Cistern, 2015). She also has been involved with a spatial video work in the exhibition “Re/Framing Louis Kahn” (Pera Museum, 2017), “Remix” (Akbank Sanat, 2017) and “Parajanov, with Sarkis” (Pera Museum, 2019) in various roles in the architectural design.
